READY-TO-SMOCK ORNAMENT KITS

CLASSIC CREATIONS is pleased to present these collections of ready-to-smock designs in kit form. Stitchers who are comfortable with basic English smocking stitches will enjoy these unique designs. They are stitched in-the-round which eliminates the need for a finishing seam. All kits come with pleated ivory satin, needle, Kreinik metallic thread, full-color photograph and complete stitching and finishing instructions for one ornament.
PLEASE NOTE: Effective January 2007, availability of the Sparkling Smocked Ornaments Series 1-9 kits is limited to supplies on hand. Please indicate a second choice when ordering. The GALAXY Series is readily available.

SPARKLING SMOCKED ORNAMENTS SERIES 1
This tassel-trimmed ornament, stitched with Kreinik ombré, is finished with ribbed spider webs and a twisted cord hanging loop. A 2" Styrofoam ball is needed to complete this ornament. Thread choice scarlet/silver or gold. $10.00 ea.

SPARKLING SMOCKED ORNAMENTS SERIES 2
The diagonal feather stitch swirls in a delicate pattern using Kreinik 1/16" ribbon around this ornament, as seen in Creative Needle Magazine, Jul/Aug 1993. A 2" Styrofoam ball is needed to complete this ornament. Thread choice periwinkle or candy cane. $10.00 ea.

SPARKLING SMOCKED ORNAMENTS SERIES 3
Using Kreinik 1/16" ribbon, this unique design is worked on two diagonals by means of inverted smocking. I call it Ornamental Twist. A 2" Styrofoam ball is needed to complete this ornament. Thread choice red/gold or emerald/amethyst. $10.00 ea.

SPARKLING SMOCKED ORNAMENTS SERIES 7
More experienced stitchers will delight in this vertically smocked design. It is stitched with Kreinik fine (#8) braid and finished with ribbed spider webs. A 2" Styrofoam ball is needed to complete this ornament. Color choice royal purple or ruby. $10.00 ea.

SPARKLING SMOCKED ORNAMENTS SERIES 8
By careful placement of up and down cable stitches, the cascading rows of stitching on this ornament appear curved. It is stitched with Kreinik tapestry (#12) braid and finished with ribbed spider webs. A 2" Styrofoam ball is needed to complete this ornament. Color choice moonstone or aquamarine. $10.00 ea.

SPARKLING SMOCKED ORNAMENTS SERIES 9
This design is smocked top-to-bottom diagonally and consists of identical rows of stitches (cables and trellises). It is stitched with Kreinik fine (#8) braid and finished with ribbed spider webs. A 2" Styrofoam ball is needed to complete this ornament. Color choice Vatican gold or shimmering spruce. $10.00 ea.

We introduced THE GALAXY SERIES of Ready-to-Smock Sparkling Smocked Ornament Kits several years ago. The inspiration for this series came over 20 years ago with a similarly shaped ornament designed by Nellie Durand, a talented fiber artist and teacher from the early days of SAGA. This Saturn shape offers exciting possibilities for rows of smocking to expand, contract and swirl as they encircle the Polystyrene® form. Each kit comes complete and includes stitching and finishing instructions with a full color photograph, pleated ivory satin, #5 darner needle, Kreinik metallic thread specific to the design, and 3-1/4" round oval Polystyrene® form. $15.00 each.

THE GALAXY SERIES #1--Lavender Mist on Venus
Misty lavender star-shaped petals stitched with Kreinik Ombré metallic radiate from woven spider webs on this tassel trimmed ornament. The design features trellis waves and cable stitches positioned to create gentle curves. A very special limited edition of this ornament was my gift to SAGA in celebration of its 25th Anniversary! $15.00 ea.

THE GALAXY SERIES #2--Martian Sunset
The fiery hibiscus color of this Kreinik fine #8 metallic braid fairly glows as it swirls from woven spider webs. The design is composed of spaced rows of diagonal feather stitches. It may be hung flat as shown or on edge like Series 1. $15.00 ea.
